Le Peep gets 1/2 star for service and 1/2 star for food. My parents had been here the week previously and had a great experience, so they invited my wife and I to lunch today. We were sat around 1:00 pm and had our orders placed by 1:15 pm. Drinks came promptly, but it took until after 2:00 pm to receive our food. At no time during this period did our server come back to our table, and our drinks had been empty for a half hour. When the food finally arrived it was cold or Luke warm at best, and my mom's salad was wrong. The server finally came around again at this point to ask how everything was and offered to bring hot fries to replace the cold ones. Twenty minutes later, after we had finished eating, she checked back and the fries had still not arrived. The fries arrived shortly after. They comp'd our entire meal, blaming the problems on the kitchen falling apart during the lunch rush an hour before.

This place is horrendous, at least in regards to breakfast food. The sausage was undercooked, the eggs rubber and plastic-tasting, the sourdough tasted like cinnamon, and the potatoes were burnt. Well, what little potatoes I had - this is Idaho, you'd think more than two tablespoons of potatoes would be on the plate. Avoid this restaurant and head somewhere better - we only went here because it was close to the hotel.

Food for lunch was not that great and if you order a burger be sure you like it well done and crispy because that is their standard. Food took a long time to be served as well

Have been to Le Peep 3 times since it opened and had great food and service every time. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, the owner greets and chats with the customers, and the view to the river is beautiful. They have a punch card that we plan to fill up quickly to get $10 off our bill.

no thank you. never again. we thought we were headed to a small personal cafe -- but it's a franchise with pre-made corporate food, in a pseudo groovy and unpleasantly loud setting. nothing we had was homemade, or even good.

Had lunch here today. 1:30 on a Saturday. Seated immediately, wait staff prompt, curteous, and attentive. I had minestrone soup and a breadstick. Not too challenging a meal, but it was good. My friend had some huge french toast dish that she raved about. I will return.

I've been here a dozen times now and will continue to go most weekend mornings. The food is good and consistent, which leads me to believe this is a chain. But dont get me wrong, its good, just doesn't have that home cooked feel to it. The place is loud, but I like that part about it, Wait staff is very friendly, and the fact that its on the river and you can either eat outside on a great deck or inside is OUTSTANDING. This is a must go if your traveling to CdA, and a must go if you live here as well.

This is easily the best breakfast in town! I like the 18 wheeler with stuffed French toast. Mix this with a great view and huge patio on the water and you can't beat it! My wife wants to eat there every day when we are in town!

Came here for breakfast last week and sat on the patio. It was awesome sitting under an umbrella next to the river. The food was great and even though our server was slow, the rest of the friendly, attentive staff made up for her. I'm going back today!

Ate here for breakfast. Awesome view on the outdoor patio, excellent service and the food was great as well! I had the breakfast burrito, and it was delicious...and huge! My wife had the salmon Benedict and she thought it had too much sauce, but the salmon was excellent and they have generous portions. I would come again!

The view was nice, but that's all that was nice. The service was really slow and almost non-existent. I asked if they had the summer menu that I saw online and they said no,..that the sping menu was all they had. I asked if they had several things that were on the summer menu that I saw and they said no. I ordered the pancakes and they tasted burnt and were the worst tasting pancakes I had ever had. In fact, they made me sick. My daughter ordered the Rock Lobster pampered eggs and when the waitress brought it out she said she was going to bring the hollandaise sauce right out. After we finished the meal, we asked about the hollandaise sauce that they never brought to us. Her answer was that they had run out of sauce just before we ordered. She didn't even apologize. My other daughter ordered the grilled cheese. It was okay, but the fries tasted like fish and some were burnt. We will NEVER go back.

We came after church on a Sunday and got seated right away. It was a little loud at first but improved as a few tables left. Our server was a delight; really personable and friendly. I ordered the Monte Cristo which was delicious. The Owner stopped by our table and checked in with us. He was friendly and courteous, answering all our questions about the decor and space. We asked our server to take our check for us instead of paying at the front desk which he did without a hitch. We would definitely come back.

This place was fantastic. Went there while visiting my Dad during car d'alene days. Totally friendly and accommodating wait staff. Food was super tasty and offered some different choices than the boring breakfast type menu.

Sorry but the food is not that good I don't know how this plays got four stars maybe it's the clientele or that it has little competition The views are great, the service was ok (had new guy) and the atmosphere is delightful but the food just doesn't match the rest

Coming in, after hearing quite a few people rave about Le Peep's, I can't help but be moderately disappointed. I came in on a late Wednesday afternoon with my family to check it out and we came into an empty restaurant. We sat outside on the side of the Spokane River and the staff was very courteous and able to move the umbrellas for us. The lunch/dinner menu is pretty lacking and not as versed as the breakfast one, something I can understand but still worrying. I ordered the Fish and Chips and was pretty excited about the waffle fries and they lived up, but the fish was greasy and tasted like they had been frozen very recently. The other people in my party ordered a burger and salads and they said they were just okay too. The salads themselves were covered in bacon bits and oily dressing and didn't look appetizing. The Chicken Cobb specifically had small amounts of chicken on the MASSIVE salad itself. Overall, there are better places to checkout especially on the Riverfront area, but based off of the other reviews, this may have just been an one-off experience.

Average at best. Great location - the view of the lake was excellent and the outdoor seating looked great. We waited quite some time on a holiday morning, which is to be expected. We also waited a long time for our food, as a result of how busy it was (hopefully). The breakfast menu was extensive, so there will definitely be something for everyone. I ordered the biscuits a gravy, which were not very good. The biscuits were dense and dry, and the gravy was kind of bland. I would not have believed something as typically delicious as biscuits and gravy could be so mediocre. My girlfriend ordered the Desperado, which sounded great on paper but was poorly executed. The potatoes were bland at best (in Idaho, come on...), the chorizo was light and bland, and the onions were undercooked. Nothing wrong with raw onions, but the texture didn't match the dish. Our friend ordered the trout and eggs, which looked good. I have become a big fan of Idaho lake trout. I would not visit this place again. Hit up the Red Robin next door instead.

Delicious Eggs Benedict, with beautiful views and friendly service=a great dining experience. Too bad they are all the way in CDA or I would frequent more often. It's wonderful to sit outside when the weather is nice and overlook the water while you eat.

VALUE! Is the key word for this amazing local restaurant. This place really shines in terms of overall value; delicious fresh food, very friendly service, fantastic ambiance at a very fair price. As a local real estate agent, I find myself going back here again and again with clients, colleagues and family members.

Very friendly owner and nice waiters. Came for breakfast, they had just had a big Kawanis meeting and allowed me to sit by the window as I came for the river view. Great view. Ordered the salmon Benedict. Hollandaise was good, eggs cooked right for me. The salmon was weird, tasted frozen then heated up. And the potatoes were very bland. Along with acidic coffee. I'd come back for the view, but it needs improvement for a $19. Per person breakfast.

Great food!! Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed breakfast with my husband who is on R&R from being away fighting fires for 2 weeks straight. This was the perfect way to start our Saturday morning. We might make this a tradition! Try the breakfast burrito! It was awesome! The only suggestion that I have is that they may want to place some bee traps around their outdoor areas. There were several bees swarming around our plates and coffee cups.

This is our favorite restaurant for breakfast in CDA!!! Get there by 8 if you want to sit on the wonderful patio, with a view of the river, without a wait. They are consistently busy from open to close and the food is awesome. You can get an egg sandwich with a side of their breakfast potatoes for under $6! The breakfast skillets, omelettes, burritos, pancakes and waffles are all wonderful. We have also had lunch and dinner (which they just started serving Wednesday-Sunday) here and the food was equally delicious.

I do not understand the review for this restaurant. It does have a nice deck with a great view. The food is something you can make at home for a quarter of the cost and it will not be luke-warm/cold and unseasoned. When speaking with the manager the response is everyone else likes it so that makes your experience not important.

My fiancé, our kids, and I LOVE this place. The food is excellent, wait staff is quality. Even when they're slammed, service and wait time are great. The owner tends to be present on our visits and I see him make his rounds and ask every patron how everything was. I highly recommend visiting Le Peep!

Great spot for breakfast with a killer view. I eat here instead of the frozen egg discs when I stay at the Hampton inn next door. I have had the breakfast tacos which they subbed the retried beans with black beans which I would recommend. Today I had the Benedict omelette. Also tasty and good portion too. I noticed recently that they opened one in Boise. So I guess it's a franchise. Pretty good for a franchise (or chain?)

On vacation from CA we came here because my niece told us how wonderful it is. Boy she was right!!! I had the chicken Marsala, garlic mashed and a small dinner salad. So yummy! My husband had their fish and chips which he also liked. The view outside is so beautiful and service was also great!! We highly recommend his place.

We were visiting the area on Sunday and with a group so decided to eat here. There was a 40 minute wait but we were fine with that we got a table outside so we could see all the activities on the river. Some had the fish tacos which were delish and others had breakfast or sandwiches. Everything was top notch!

Servers and staff were really pleasant. Save your self the money and just hit a Denny's or any other chain. Le Peep should be embarrassed serving the food they do at such a high price point. Is it the tacky 'high-end' decor that people buy into? My potatoes tasted like they'd been sitting in a refrigerator for a few days and then put into a microwave, taken out of the microwave and left out for a few more hours. Corned beef hash from a can , which I love, shouldn't cost what they charge. Does anyone in N. Idaho give a shit about organic or fresh ingredients ? Le Peep, start the trend and I'd pay for it

I am eager to raise this to 4 starts. I typically go on a weekday and order the salmon Benedict which is phenomenal! The eggs are always poached to perfection. Today I veered off the norm and got the 18 wheeler with my eggs poached medium. The French toast was cooked well but my turkey sausage was luke warm and my eggs came out looking terrible... Turns out they were poached easy instead of medium. If today had been my first experience I would be hard pressed to give anything more than one star.

Can't think of a better way to start off the first morning of a two week outdoor places road trip than to meet good friends who live in Coeur d'Alene (CDA) for breakfast at Le Peep. This 61 store, 25 year old restaurant chain was new to us, but the locally owned Le Peep in CDA is a favorite of theirs for breakfast. Given the location on the Spokane River in the Riverstone Complex on the first floor of the industrial-chic Bellerive condo building we can see why they like it. THE VIBE A little too chilly at 8:30 a.m., even on a gorgeous sunny morning, to take up the friendly hostess on her offer to seat us outside on the expansive patio that sits right on the river, we opted for a window table inside the sparkling clean industrial vibe space. In addition to enjoying time with our friends we were treated to watching a Bald Eagle as he flew back and forth over the river and to the trees beyond. It was delightful. THE SERVICE As was the friendly and efficient service. Although CDA is largely a tourist town, we received service that one might expect in a small town with "we're so glad you're here" style. Very nice. THE EATS The breakfast menu is huge and what one might expect in a chain, think Carrows perhaps as analog but with much more creative options here. You're not going to find high end food products, but if you choose carefully from the menu there is something for everyone. Serving sizes are very generous and prices are very reasonable. My hubby was a fan of the fluffy cranberry almond pancakes and the two of them were big enough the order could have easily been shared. If you're a breakfast for lunch fan, as we often are on vacation, good to know that while lunch is served here too, breakfast is served all day. Le Peep's marketing materials say "Our natural foods are tastier and healthier than many of our competitors." Considering their competition to be other breakast / lunch focused chains, I think they must be right in that claim. While this isn't a farm to fork enterprise that is sourcing from local growers and farmers, as a person who likes to know where their food comes from, I tip my hat to them for listing their vendors on their web site. So you know in advance that the English Muffins are Thomases, the pancake syrup is from Northern Pines, the oats are Quaker and the brioche buns are from La Brea Bakery. Worth special mention, good for Le Peep for using Lavazza coffee which is a big step up from their chain restaurant competition! BOTTOM LINE All in all, we had a great experience. Three stars for food, three stars for interior design, five stars for setting, five stars for service, six stars for sharing it all with good friends. We would happily go back. THIS N THAT: 1) ACCESSIBILITY: Level in and throughout with standard height table seating in the restaurant and on the patio. 2) PARKING: Parking lot is across the street from the Bellerive building. You can drop off passengers in a driveway in front of the restaurant if you like. 3) TV: none, thank goodness. 4) FAMILY FRIENDLY: The menu and space seem very vacationing family and kid friendly too.

Great view! Love the use of space, and the sound baffling makes conversation easy even at a busy breakfast. Lot's of Gluten free options, in fact the Gluten Free Waffle was incredible. I also got a ground turkey breakfast burrito with verde sauce. It was really good. Also they left coffee at the table that we could pour at our leisure and I really liked that. Fast service, and good pricing. The only con for me was I ordered a churrizo burrito and they gave me ground turkey. It would have been a bigger deal for me if the ground turkey wasn't so good. I ended up keeping the mistake meal and digging in. Also if you order that burrito, just know it's big enough for two... but sadly I ate the whole thing.

I've been here several times for lunch and breakfast. It's ok. I think it's the atmosphere that keeps me from frequenting this place. Cold and loud. For lunch, I've had the Asian Salad. It's good and the ingredients are always fresh. For breakfast, I usually get one of their veggie omelets. I've never had a bad meal here. The service is usually good. The menu has a great variety to offer, which I really like. The owner is very nice and usually comes around to check on the tables. I really like that he's present and involved. I've asked him for donations for an auction for Kids Camp a few summers ago and he was very willing and generous.

This is my favorite breakfast spot in cda. They have a huge menu with all kinds of good stuff. It gets pretty full on the weekends so you have to except longer wait times but service is awesome, staff is friendly and outgoing. Plus they have outdoor seating right on the river. Perfect spot for a morning date!

Friendly servers and staff, attentive service. The food is average to above average. Many of the menu items sound inspired, but the ultimate execution and included sides (I'm looking at you, "peasant potatoes") come up a bit short. The view and decor are generally excellent, but soul of the establishment; the food, is above average at best. With some pricing adjustments and more attention to detail/quality of the food, the establishment could really shine.

Great little place to eat in CDA. Went for my moms Birthday, there were 4 of us and we were all very happy with our food. I had the biscuits & gravy which was very good, and the potatoes that came with were delicious! My mom ordered the gluten-free waffle and she loved it!! We sat by the window, which looked out on the river. We will definitely go again!

Have eaten here several times. Perfect setting when we can eat outside. Service is great and atmosphere is perfect. The only negative thing I would have to say is the bacon is subpar. I've had several different breakfasts and enjoy them all but honesty I've had better bacon at McDonald's. Other than that, highly recommend.

We had breakfast at our favorite breakfast place on the river this morning. As usual, the food was good and well prepared. The atmosphere was great and the weather was perfect to sit out on the patio and enjoy the beautiful morning. Our only disappointment was that Tasha, our normal Tuesday morning waitress, had moved on to another place of employment. We will get used to a new server but it'll take some time. The food is worth the $$$.

I've eaten there twice and it has not improved since it has opened. It is like having Denny's at Dockside... The food prices are fair but it is pretty bland(I know some people like that) the peasant potatoes are nothing special they are like the ones you get from your local frozen food section. I almost rated this 2 stars because the outdoor seating on the river was nice. The staff didn't look like they wanted to be there and we had about 5 people asking us if we need anything so I'm not sure who I was tipping. They have a good variety of options on the menu, but we are all not going back.

We'd had breakfast and lunch here several times at this point, and everything is perfect every single time we do! From service, to atmosphere (THE VIEWS!!), to the food... all the way down to the more than reasonable prices. My husband and I have made it a point to order a variety of foods each time we come in, and so far have loved everything we've had. My standout favorite is probably the Colorado Omelet with smoked turkey, bacon, some type of cheese... just delicious. My husband's fav to date is trout and eggs. You get a whole lot of food with every order (I have yet to finish any one meal)... and with drinks (YUMMY coffee concoctions, by the way), our total is still always under $30! It's a steal, and a very relaxing, pleasant time.

Let me start off by saying, le peep is the best breakfast restaurant in northern Idaho. You walk in and are greeted by, what most of the time, is an extremely attractive female. (Call me?) You sit down and get to enjoy the view of the river as you sip a nice glass of lemon water. Now this next step is very important to enhance your dining experience here. ORDER THE LEMONADE. You will become sexually aroused. Guaranteed. I usually order what they call the eighteen wheeler. It comes with 2 slices of French toast, eggs, bacon or sausage and potatoes. But I substitute the potatoes for hash browns at no cost which is wonderful. I am a fan of the "modern on a budget" decor they went with. Although the extensive use of zip ties to hold up the ceiling pieces scares me. The food here is good, I've tried a few things on the menu and been impressed with every one of them. The prices are more than reasonable and often times I walk out of here with a $10 or less bill. Perfect place to bring bae after a rough night in the sheets if you know what I'm saying. And on a nice day, there is nothing better than sitting outside on the water enjoying nothing else but.. THE LEMONADE.

Don't bother...go to IHop and order their omelet . Le Peep served tasteless, cold and amateurish food. Ordered a signature omelet. Cheese cold, not melted, few veggies and cold, separating hollandaise. The omelet was more of an over cooked frittata. flipped with cold ingredients. Potatoes were mushy, cold, steamed with zero taste. But, how do you mess up an English muffin?? Well, they can. Steamed, soft texture and greasy. But, the worst was the manager. Upon checking out, a guest gave a Passport Unlimited card for their two for one meal.. The manager ARGUED with them about the acceptance of this card. We also have this card and the website lists this café as a participant. When I gave the manager my card, he could not find the number, clearly on the card was unprofessional when he spoke to me. He then asked how the food was. So I told him...his face said it all. I suggested he monitor his kitchen. Also, the rock music and party attitude coming from the kitchen, suggested to me that kids are in charge of this asylum. DON'T GO DON'T GO DON'T GO

A favorite for breakfast or lunch and even dinner during the summer. They have a nice location with a beautiful view. The staff is helpful and accommodating for special orders too!

This place has a gorgeous view from the patio and definitely gets busy on weekend mornings. First I will say the service is excellent. The menu is large, with plenty of options you'll struggle between. I chose the "Rock Lobster" pampered eggs, which includes eggs scrambled with lobster and brie cheese, tomatoes, and hollandaise to top it off. It was the best breakfast I've had in a long time! Rich but not too rich. Their honey wheat English muffins are a real treat. Yum!! I hope they add this restaurant to Spokane (but please not the South Hill)! Will definitely be coming back!

There are far better places to eat in CDA. For the good things, the waiter was nice, the view is great and the day was sunny. The food so-so, the service is slow and it is very noisy in the restaurant. We paid $3.99 for a cro-nut (croissant & doughnut), it was dry and nasty. The food was just okay.

We actually came to Le Peep based on a recommendation from friends. The location is positively lovely with views of the water if you sit near the window or outside. Unfortunately for us it was a bit rainy so we ended up inside. We arrives at about 11:15 and waited 10 minutes or so to be seated. I was pleased that when I asked for a gluten free menu one was available. We ordered coffee, regular for my husband and a soy latte for me.. while we looked at the menus. Our server, Monica was bright and cheery. We were very happy with her. Before the coffee came we ordered our food. After another 10 minutes our coffee finally arrived. My husband was delighted to have a carafe so that he could refill his own. I on the other hand was a bit surprised at how small my coffee was. It could not have been more than 12 or 14 ounces and it was not a great coffee. My husband's coffee was $2.49 and mine was $3.89. $3.89 is a lot for a mediocre small latte. It took us another 20 minutes after the coffee arrived for our breakfast to get there. I have to wonder if they were out back squeezing the eggs out of the chickens or if they were digging up the potatoes. It was a really long wait. We saw two other parties get up and leave. My husband had the build your own omelette. Corned beef hash, mushrooms and tomatoes with egg whites. Cost 8.96. My husband said the omelette was nice but I was surprised that he only got once slice of toast and a pretty small portion of potatoes. I had the Gluten Free Drifter Skillet with scrambled eggs. 8.99 Potatoes, broccoli, onions and mushrooms with cheese topped by the eggs. It was simple and tasty enough. I was unimpressed by the oil in the bottom of the dish and the gluten free "toast" was a bit sad. It was more warm bread than toast. Oh and about the toast... we were at least halfway through our meal before our toast arrived. Really makes me wonder what was going on in that kitchen. My husband said he would eat there again, but not on a potentially busy day. I said that while I don't mind paying a premium for excellent service, and for gluten free options I would not come again because of the very lengthy wait. Also as a mostly vegan eater it would have been nice to have one good vegan option on the menu.

My fiancé, our kids, and I LOVE this place. The food is excellent, wait staff is quality. Even when they're slammed, service and wait time are great. The owner tends to be present on our visits and I see him make his rounds and ask every patron how everything was. I highly recommend visiting Le Peep!

Sorry but the food is not that good I don't know how this plays got four stars maybe it's the clientele or that it has little competition The views are great, the service was ok (had new guy) and the atmosphere is delightful but the food just doesn't match the rest

My family and I had breakfast here two days in a row and got lunch to go in the second day. The gluten free menu has a lot more choice than most places and the choices are regular menu items made GF. I tried my wife's GF waffle and French toast and would happily have an order of each for my breakfast, and I don't eat GF. The service was attentive and friendly and eating outside by the river is lovely. I finally recommend Le Peep and will be back when we're in Coeur d'Alene again.

The food is hit or miss. Seems like every other time I go here the potatoes are cold or the food isn't cooked according to the order. When the food is hot and the order is accurate, it's a very good experience. Beautiful view of the river.

We have eaten here many times. The service is always great. They have many great gluten free options. The breakfast is very good but I haven't had a lunch there that was anything but okay. It's a little loud inside but if it's a nice day the deck is a wonderful place to eat.

We usually eat breakfast out each Saturday morning. So, we decided to try a new place, as it came recommended by friend. We arrived and although they were full we got right in with a nice window table for two. Service was attentive and helpful with the large list of menu items. My wife ordered the monte cristobalite crepes. I ordered country eggs Benedict. The noise was so loud we could not carry on a reasonable conversation even though there we only two at our table. The food came fairly fast with my wife's crepes looking nice. The eggs Benedict were scrambled not poached on a bed of potatoes. Fruit was on the side. The English muffin came out later after a five to ten minute wait. Asked the server what gives with the menu item sand he said they will fix it. Ten minutes later got a redo on the meal but now the poached eggs were hard cooked no soft yoke at all. Would I go there again? Not until my memory fades me! Would I recommend it? Not to Friends!

We have eaten here many times. The service is always great. They have many great gluten free options. The breakfast is very good but I haven't had a lunch there that was anything but okay. It's a little loud inside but if it's a nice day the deck is a wonderful place to eat.

Ate here for breakfast. Awesome view on the outdoor patio, excellent service and the food was great as well! I had the breakfast burrito, and it was delicious...and huge!

Had lunch here today. 1:30 on a Saturday. Seated immediately, wait staff prompt, curteous, and attentive. I had minestrone soup and a breadstick. Not too challenging a meal, but it was good. My friend had some huge french toast dish that she raved about. I will return.

Have been to Le Peep 3 times since it opened and had great food and service every time. no thank you. never again. we thought we were headed to a small personal cafe -- but it's a franchise with pre-made corporate food, in a pseudo groovy and unpleasantly loud setting. nothing we had was homemade, or even good.

I do not understand the review for this restaurant. It does have a nice deck with a great view. The food is something you can make at home for a quarter of the cost and it will not be luke-warm/cold and unseasoned. When speaking with the manager the response is everyone else likes it so that makes your experience not important.

My fiancé, our kids, and I LOVE this place. The food is excellent, wait staff is quality. Even when they're slammed, service and wait time are great.

VALUE! Is the key word for this amazing local restaurant. This place really shines in terms of overall value; delicious fresh food, very friendly service, fantastic ambiance at a very fair price. As a local real estate agent, I find myself going back here again and again with clients, colleagues and family members.

A favorite for breakfast or lunch and even dinner during the summer. They have a nice location with a beautiful view. The staff is helpful and accommodating for special orders too!

Great place for breakfast or brunch. Berry granola French toast was excellent and not-too-large a serving.
